Dr. Caroline Ortmann is a PhD Pharmacist and works as the Responsible Technical Pharmacist for Quality & Regulatory Affairs for Sabinsa Brasil. Dr. Ortmann worked as an academic researcher for more than ten years at universities in Brazil where she acquired her postgraduate and doctoral degrees, with PhD in Pharmacy being granted from Federal University of Santa Catarina.
During her academic career, Dr. Ortmann has developed research in the area of drug-medicines with experience in natural products, with emphasis on the phytochemistry of medicinal plants, standardization of bioactive extracts, stability studies and chromatographic analytical development of phenolic compounds, with focus on glycosylflavonoids. The studies emphasized the bio-guided investigation of pharmacological potential of natural products as natural anti-inflammatory antioxidant and antidepressants. Results were published in peer-reviewed journals.
Dr. Ortmann has also worked in the Brazilian pharmaceutical industry in the area of quality control of medicines and Research & Development of analytical methods.
Dr. Ortmann’s experience gives support to Sabinsa Brasil's operations in Regulatory Affairs to ensure the company's compliance with Regulatory Agencies and quality processes with the support of the certifications of the Sami-Sabinsa Group. She also provides support to customers in technical matters, presenting a transparent, qualified, and traceable production chain of Sabinsa products from cultivation to final purified extract.
By applying all the robust scientific evidence of Sabinsa products, Dr. Ortmann focuses on promoting the innovation and health benefits of standardized phyto-extracts, minerals, and probiotics to Sabinsa’s Brazilian customers.
